Deep roots, bright future.
Abria Pregnancy Resources has deep roots in the Twin Cities. The organization began offering hope and help to women experiencing unexpected pregnancies in 1975 as University LifeCare Center, located in Dinkytown near the University of Minnesota. In 2001, a neighboring center, the Highland LifeCare Center, opened in St. Paul. After several years of collaboration, the boards of directors for the centers merged, creating one organization with two locations in the urban core. Spurred on in 2014 by the necessity of relocating the University LifeCare Center, the organization took itself through an intense strategic planning process. Out of that process, came the decision to consolidate the operations of both centers into one new location that would be more easily accessible and better equipped to serve the next generation. The new center, Abria Pregnancy Resources, opened in 2015 on University Avenue, offering more professional services and a stronger message of hope.
In 2016, North Side Pregnancy Options approached Abria Pregnancy Resources with interest in merging. North Side Pregnancy Options had also been providing life care to women in North Minneapolis since 1978. Realizing that together they could expand their reach and services, both boards voted unanimously to merge under the Abria name in 2017.
With two centers located within miles of a dozen colleges and universities and many of the cities' most vulnerable neighborhoods, Abria Pregnancy Resources is helping more women than ever.
